Where are you going? Somewhere cold where you can sit by a fire and feel nice and toasty? Somewhere to go skiing? A place you can build a fort and have a snow ball fights with loved ones? Or on an adventure where you are going to see new places but have to figure out how to stay warm? Whatever or wherever it may be... You have come to the right place! I am leaving soon across the waters somewhere I have never been before and I think i'll keep it as a surprise until I arrive over there. (insert monkey emoji covering his eyes here) It's a cold place... very cold so I am getting my stuff together and decided to help you pack for a winter trip as well!
One of my favorite bloggers is absolutely amazing! Check her out @ jessicamariekelley :) Apart from being a phenomenal blogger she has her own shop jessicamariedesign where you can purchase printable designs to keep organized and much more!
I see this as a way to not only assist me during my trip but as a form to keep tabs on where I have been! I plan to create a travel binder of the places I have been, explored, and just loved! A book where I can go through all my adventures and remember where I went, what I ate, what places I visited while I was there and look back at if I ever plan to go again! Literally an investment for my travel! I plan on building it and showing to my friends and family once it gets a little bigger but how cool is that? It's literally my own personal travel journal! Or you can call it my scrap book but instead of just posting it online I will be creating my own hard copy for many years to come!
Alright... the wait is over... here is our winter trip packing list!

They say that smiling can change the world. I for one am a big believer of that! Smiling can change your day from bad to good... but what makes someone smile so confidently? If you said brushing and taking care of your teeth YOU my friend are correct! Brushing is SO important just as important as drinking water or watching that new episode of This is Us let's be real what would life be without these things?
For almost month I have been brushing my teeth with the CariPro electric toothbrush and all I can say is WOWWZZZZAA!!! Ok so I am real big about how clean and white my teeth are because if you haven't notice I smile... ALOT! Wish my regular tooth brush I found my self using my nails to scratch off food from my teeth and trying to get ride of all that plaque that made my teeth feel so yucky not to mention the bacteria that causes bad breath (peeee yyooouuuu) Well my friends let me just say that I am truly amazed with my new electric toothbrush and I am a little disappointed in myself for not have brushed with one of these sooner but hey sooner is better than latter right? :P
There are 5 different brush settings on this awesome toothbrush. (clean, white, massage, gum care, sensitive). The super fascinating thing about the toothbrush is that after 30 seconds there is a quick pause indicating you to brush another side of your mouth that way you brush all side equally for a total of 2min! 2 minuets TOO EASY!!!
Clean
this is the base setting to clean your teeth unlike a manual toothbrush I feel like I don't have to scrub so hard to get that squeaky clean feeling!
White
this mode is a little bit harder on your teeth because it's really working to get those teeth clean! I swear every time I brush I feel like I am at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned by a professional.
I noticed that were the coffee stains on my teeth were becoming visible they are now disappearing! YAY ME!!
Massage
I was a little confused at first because all I thought about "A massage for my mouth?" YES! Exactly! It's a massage for your teeth and your gums! It feels so fun! It's an extra way to thank your teeth for allowing you to wear that smile proud and confidently!
Gum
lets remember that we aren't only taking care of our pearly whites but our gums are just as important and this setting is perfect because it's not so harsh on your gums and it gets the perfect amount of cleaning done and done!
Sensitive
for all my people that after a little scrubbing your gums start to bleed this is for you loves! CariPro has got your back never worry about scrubbing to harshly and then bleeding (I'm one of those sometimes I would brush so hard I'd start to bleed!) Not any more thanks to my wonderful electric toothbrush!
Overall, I highly recommend you get yourself to SMILE BRILLIANT page to check out my fancy toothbrush and all the other wonderful things they have in store for you to protect that gorgeous smile of yours that way even on your toughest days you will want to smile!
Because I love my toothbrush so much I want you to feel the same confidence about your smile!
I have partnered up with smilebrilliant to give all my followers a 20% OFF COUPON that you can use at check out (jaslynandrea20) YAY to healthy beautiful teeth!!!

I had my first group interview for a teaching position and while other were getting emails for a second interview I sat down alone refreshing my email for something that never came in. I knew adult life sucked and that not everyone would just say "YES! We want you." but, at the same time I felt a little sad. One... it's at a school I really enjoy so that was a bust but secondly I don't know if it's because of my personality? You know sometimes people just don't click with you and when they don't they put you aside without knowing who you really are and what you are capable of.
Surprisingly, I didn't cry. I thought with the heartache I have been facing I would have at least shed a tear but NOPE! I didn't cry and I definitely don't feel "sorry" for myself. The disappointment I feel is towards how job interviews are conducted now a days. There seems to be no more what have you done? what can you do? what drives you? are you willing to learn? NO. Instead people ask for years of experience even when they clearly know some of us have just graduated ANNOYING am I right? Some look for those who can answer best on the spot, who kisses butt, and who they see that "looks" the part... and to me well, that is disappointing.
I know no great place is a great place without great people... so I have come to an understanding that maybe I just wasn't the right fit for the spot. Instead of crying and feeling sorry for myself I decided to remain positive because I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason. If something is for you it will be for you and if it's not, it simply won't no matter how much you seem to want it. Doesn't mean not getting the job doesn't suck, it just means that we must live, learn, and move on to the next adventure.
Maybe I am suppose to focus on my passions and on my blog? Maybe I should push my small photography business until I have passed all my state exams and am ready to start my teaching journey? Maybe big blessings are coming and I am not seeing that God is working wonders for the future... my future? I don't know if any of you have been through something like this... if you have I encourage you to take the high road, to smile, and remember God is always working! We may not get that first time big break but we will get the next one or the next. You are worth it my friend and the right job, with the right people, will come! Patience, positivity, and persistence is key!
Here are a couple things I recommend you do during tough times like these...
1. Acceptance - Sometimes some jobs/places are not for us and that's ok.
2. Ask for feedback- Maybe you can contact the person(s) who interviewed you and see if you can get any feedback as to why you weren't selected and how you can better yourself.
3. Don't give up! - Just because you didn't get that first job doesn't mean you won't get the second or third...let's be real getting a good job for a first job or even at all is very hard these days.
4. Ask yourself - Is there anything else I can do? Am I sure I even want to do this?
5. Love yourself - A bad moment is not a bad life, remember your worth and how incredible you are I always say... "they are gonna wish they had me" ya know makes me feel better and also cause in my mind it's true and it should be true for you too!
6. Keep applying - Don't be scared to get turned down again! Believe me it happens! That's what life is all about following down 9 times and getting up 10!
Once the right job comes you will be so happy and thankful you won't even be sad about the hard times anymore! Remember that all good things take time!
Here is an article from the glassdoor.com that shares how you can find out why you didn't get the job. The Glassdoor even shares a template that you can use to send to the hiring manager an email if you'd wish to learn from your experience. I am cheering for you and for you success!

I have some tips for you that have really helped me during these past 5 years as a college student. I hope to help and inspire ya'll to keep going! :)
1. Make a plan
- What are you studying first?
- What is the priority?
- What is the subject you have the most difficult time with?
I have learned with my 5 years of college experience that studying for my first exam first is always more important. I start with my first test, plan out what materials I need to study and get it ready wether it is hard copy in a folder/binder/journal or if it's online material I create a folder on my desktop to keep me organized.
Then I use my organizer to plan out my times and dates of when I will be studying.
Once I finish with my first subject I follow up with the next one depending on the order they fall in during finals!
Once my first exam comes up I review for it 2 days before that way it is fresh in my head and have a kick review the day before that way I don't over exhaust my brain.
2. Pick a place
One of the most important things is the SETTING you are in.
The best setting to be in is where the people around you are also working.
If I stay home and no one is working I am more relaxed and have no motivation to get things done.
However, when I pick an environment where other people are working I feeling capable of anything! My go to places are school, a library, or my fav spot of all COFFEE SHOPS!
3. Pick a time
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Pick the time that suits YOU best!
Don't study too past your bedtime either because pushing yourself late a night can make you to tired and you aren't really studying anymore... might as well be asleep :P
4. Discover your best learning style
We all learn differently. Get to know your best learning style, how do you feel more comfortable? Whatever it is your prefer study that way!
Here are some different types of of studying techniques,
- Visual learners prefer to learn by seeing. Try using different colors in your notes and draw diagrams to help represent key points. You can reference these during study time and because you were able to see them... you will find yourself have mini flashbacks of what you created to remember a certain something.
- Auditory learners prefer to learn by listening. Try reading your notes aloud and discussing them with other people. You might like to record key points and play them back. Me and my friend would always find ways to study out loud we would make funny things up that rhymed with what we were learning and remember easier using that during our exams.
- Tactile/kinesthetic learners prefer to learn by doing. Try using techniques like role-playing or building models to revise key points. Oh yes... they say if you really know something you can teach it. Study by teaching someone else what you know!
5. Study EVERYDAY
Studying a little at a time you will be continually reviewing information for your brain to grasp a hold of. This helps to keep you at ease so that you aren't cramming so much information all in one night.
My friends... I know we think we work better under pressure but um... we really don't sorry not sorry.
I use to think I did but it doesn't work that way for exams, sadly.
If you feel that there is not enough time... ask for hours off of work, cut back in those activities just for the mean time! The priority to to take care of you health all while prepping for your exams.
6. DO take breaks
Yes... contradicts #4 a little but YOU have to take a break!
If you feel stressed, have a headache, or simply brain dead
close that journal, turn off that laptop, and go do something fun and exciting or
SLEEP! WE all need sleep lets be real! It's okay to take breaks every once in a while as long as we are using that time wisely.
7. Ask for help
Don't be afraid to ask for help! Find a study group to work with preferably those who are motivated and know there stuff because ya know you don't wanna be in a study group where are you do is talk about parties and stuff... not productive at all :P
Find a tutor on campus, most campuses offer free tutors, or areas where you can get help from other students who are tutors in different subjects.
I am that person... always asking for help:) hahahaha
8. Don't forget to EAT!
OOOO EEEEMMMM GEEEE
ya'll real talk us college students forget to eat... we get so caught up in the moment we skip meals and by the time we know it we are in bed ready to sleep and feel empty inside and realize we went the entire day without eating.
Around that plan that you make... plan your meals! Make sure they are rich in protein so that your brain and body maintain healthy through this stressful process!
9. More in depth planning
Set alarms- it's good to have alarms set for your daily plan.
Breaks, food, naps, material change, etc.
Make to do lists-There is so much more we have to get done other then studying. Make a daily to do list in the morning when you wake up everyday to have what you need to get done fresh in your mind. Make it a goal to check off what you have a accomplished to feel like a BOSS.
Set time limits- I know we wanna do so much... and then we get distracted with our phones and social media BUT NO! Set time limits if you are gonna study for 45min set that time limit where you are not gonna check social media nor your phone during that time period. Once you have completed this task feel free to treat your self with the latest music video on youtube by Ariana Grande who I lav so much!
10. STAY MOTIVATED!
You are here for a reason right?
Wether you are studying to be a doctor, a teacher, engineer, nurse, business man/women, YOU have a purpose. Remind yourself of why you are doing this. What does this mean for your future?
I know it's hard loves... things don't get easier, we simply get better or worse at doing things and I say WE GET BETTER together!!!
Tip from one of my fav girls on INSTA Urechi "#1 tip for studying: eat well before you start, hydrate as often as you need and take short frequent breaks - bc the better you treat your mind and body, the better your brain treats you."
Thank you for that tip URECHI :D
I'd love to hear how you study! What are some study tips you recommend?
PS. These are some of my grad PICS!!! December 16th is so so CLOSE!
xoxo
