Hello :) I hope you are doing well on this gorgeous morning. Jose (my boyfriend) and I had the most amazing staycation at The Westin Riverwalk Hotel in our beautiful city of San Antonio. It has been such a long time since we have had a getaway and it was great to do it right here. It is truly amazing how a change of scenery can make you feel like you are in a whole new world. Even if we are from San Antonio the experience felt like we were somewhere else.
We checked in to our room at about 2:15pm On Friday and were greeted so kindly by the Valet and front desk staff. Their hospitality was off the charts. We instantly felt the love and kindness of everyone at this Hotel. Checking in was simple and easy, they had COVID guidelines throughout the hotel in which guests are required to wear their masks indoors. As we made our way up to the 14th floor we were in complete aww with our corner suite. Once we got settled in we made our way down and got an amazing tour by the sweetest person! Tracy Jacaman-Ligarde. She was awesome! Her presence instantly made us feel at home.
We watched movies, took bubble baths, and relaxed by the pool (pool time is also upon reservation for 1.5 hours) After each session the pool area is sanitized for the next round of guests. :) We loved exploring our city but apart of us also wanted to just stay at the hotel to enjoy every second we could.
What we ordered:
Appetizer: Crab-Stuffed Jalapeños
Drinks: El Pepino, Prickly Pear, Old Fashion, and Horchata
Dinner: Pollo Relleno & Chile Relleno Rústico
Dessert: Mexican Donuts & Tres Leches
We fell in love with every bite and every drink! The amazing service was definitely the cherry on top!
We will be back for more! :D
Breakfast at The Guenther House
Drinks: Founders Choice coffee
Breakfast: Chicken and sweet cream waffle with a side of egg & 1851 breakfast platter with a side of pancakes
We had been to the Guenther House plenty times before and they never fail to amaze us! We love the food as much as we love the service. We also ordered some jelly, cookies, pancake & waffle mix to go! You can also order online and make this delicious food from the comfort of your home. :D Shout out to Donna Vaughan who treated us so kindly. We got an insight to all the history of the magical Guenther House. We can't wait to be back, especially during Christmas time, which I heard is darling!
After we ate at Guenther house and the rain went away we hit up Six Flags but only for while. We enjoyed the rides & our favorite Frozen Lemonade along with delicious street corn! We could have spent the whole day here but we were so anxious to get back to the hotel. The Park itself did a great job of spreading out guests on the rides but because of the extra safety measures wait time for rides was a lot longer than usual. If you are up for the wait times we still 10/10 recommend visiting the park (weekdays might be better than weekends) (:
To end the night we went to have a relaxing swim. It was absolutely amazing! We loved seeing the stars in the night sky as well as the gorgeous view from the pool.
Sunday morning we hit up Cafecito which is located in the lobby area of the hotel. We enjoyed our coffee & breakfast croissants while watching TV in our room before check out. I have to say I was 110% not ready to leave this gorgeous place! We also enjoyed a nice early morning swim while we watched the sun rise. It was beautiful!
